“Sinus Lift with Insertion of Upper Jaw Implants”
SINUS LIFT FAQ
What is a sinus lift?
A sinus lift (sometimes called a sinus graft or sinus augmentation) can help correct bone loss in the upper jaw, where your molars and premolars are located. The bone is added to the maxillary sinuses (hence the name of the treatment). It is a very special procedure that is usually performed by an oral maxillofacial surgeon like Dr. Firas Osman.
Why would I need a sinus lift?
Dentists may recommend this procedure if your jaw is not strong enough to support DENTAL IMPLANTS . This can occur if the sinuses are too close to the jaw, or if there has been a lot of bone loss from gum disease.
When should I call my dental surgeon?
Dr. Firas Osman is committed to quality care – before, during and after a surgical dental treatment like a sinus lift. Do not hesitate to consult if you feel that swelling, bleeding and pain has not subsided within 6 hours, or if blood does not clot and continues to look bright red. Also report any fever or a feeling that the bony material has moved after sneezing or blowing your nose.
